- Investigates how the soil microbiome influences weed suppression.
- Includes screening of microbial isolates, greenhouse inoculation trials and sequencing to track microbiome shifts.
- Develops microbe-based approaches for AEWM.
- Implements and monitors AEWM strategies in real-life conditions across partner countries.
- Assesses weed suppression, soil health and crop performance.
Validates effectiveness and adaptability of co-developed practices.
WP5 – Functional Diversity
- Analyzes weed community traits, biodiversity and interactions with soil microbiome.
- Examines how functional diversity contributes to resilient and less competitive weed communities.
- Links ecological functions to AEWM success.
WP6 – Socio-Economic Impact
- Assesses social acceptance, economic feasibility and policy relevance of AEWM strategies.
- Identifies barriers and opportunities for broader adoption.
- Supports the development of recommendations for agroecological transitions.
