Inhalt: IT specialist for system integration

Fundamentals

Are you convinced that every problem is just a path to a solution? Are you interested in troubleshooting, computers, and networks, but also enjoy working with people and approach your tasks in an experimental yet structured manner?

Then IT for system integration is the right choice for you.

Especially in larger companies and institutions such as the JKI – with many employees and even more technical equipment – IT experts are faced with minor and major problems and inquiries on a daily basis. As an IT specialist for system integration, you will be the first point of contact for scientists and will ensure that everything from computers, networks, and servers to video conferencing equipment is running smoothly so that scientists can work and conduct research. Empathy, communication skills, and occasionally a little patience when dealing with colleagues are the keys to success at our company.

If this applies to you and you would like to complete your training in a communicative, well-coordinated team, then apply now!

Your checklist: Helpful qualities for system integration training at the JKI

  • Empathy and communication skills
  • Enjoy interacting with people, team player
  • High learning ability, enjoy technology, solution-oriented
  • High school diploma, secondary school diploma – or you can convince us with your commitment and interest

What to expect

What does an IT specialist for system integration do? Depending on the training company, there are different areas of focus, but at our company, the tasks are very diverse. You will be part of an IT team that provides all IT infrastructure for a large location. This means everything from support to networks to servers.  Printers and video conferencing systems, software troubleshooting, project planning, and dealing with users, customers, and the service hotline are also part of your work. We use the Windows operating system on most computers, but we have both Windows and Linux servers in our server landscape. Therefore, you will learn about both areas.  Of course, there are also recurring daily tasks in this profession – these are just as much a part of the training as exciting projects or new challenges in technology.

At the end of your training, you will take the IHK exam. To prepare for this, you will carry out a project of your own choosing with us. Your interest and commitment will determine the direction it takes.

As a trained system integrator, you can also work in many IT professions after completing your training at our federal research institute.
