Pupils at general education schools

Internship

The Julius Kühn Institute offers vocational school students at all locations the opportunity to complete their mandatory internships. However, as places are limited, it is worth applying early!

With nine locations and 18 institutes, there is a wide variety of topics you can work on during your internship – from plant breeding to plant protection and more.

How do you apply? The best thing to do is to visit our website to find out about the individual institutes and their areas of work. This will give you a good impression of what to expect.

Simply apply with a casual, informal letter addressed to the relevant institute – you will find the addresses on the respective pages. It is important that you specify the period of your desired internship.

Good luck!

Students at universities, colleges and technical colleges

Are you enrolled in an agricultural or horticultural science programme at your university or technical college and want to finally gain some real-world experience? Then come join us and immerse yourself in the exciting world of agriculture and plants! Here, you can apply your knowledge directly, start projects and gain valuable experience. Take the next step and become part of our team!

Internship

Do your study regulations require an internship? No problem! You can complete your mandatory internship at one of the JKI's specialist institutes. It is best to visit our website beforehand to find out more about the various institutes and their work.

Once you have made your decision, apply directly to the institute or institutes that interest you – you will find the contact details on the respective pages.

As the number of places for compulsory internships is limited, you should apply early. Even if your degree programme offers you the choice between a research stay, seminar, term paper or internship as a compulsory module, the internship is still compulsory if you choose it.

Good luck with your application!

Bachelor's or Master's thesis

You have the opportunity to write your bachelor's or master's thesis at the JKI – a great chance to gain practical experience and participate in exciting projects! To ensure that everything fits perfectly, you should first visit our website to find out about the diverse range of topics covered by the JKI's specialist institutes.

Then you can take action: contact one or more institutes of your choice, suggest a topic or enquire whether they already have interesting projects available for your thesis. You will find the contact details on the respective institute pages.

Take advantage of this opportunity to get involved, learn new things and make a real contribution in your field – we look forward to your ideas and commitment!
