Family-friendly employer
e promote work-life balance and support the health of our employees through external counselling and services. Transparency and open communication are particularly important to us in this regard.
On the initiative of the Equal Opportunities Office, berufundfamilie Service GmbH successfully certified the JKI for the berufundfamilie audit in 2021. On 15 March 2025, the JKI received the berufundfamilie audit certificate for the second time for its strategic design of family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy and family-friendly working conditions.
We want to further improve our attractiveness as an employer and increase employee job satisfaction and identification with the JKI. Existing measures to promote work-life balance at the JKI include management development on the topic of work-life balance, an employee survey, a self-declaration by managers on family- and life-phase-conscious leadership, and a comprehensive information section on the intranet. Work is now underway on work-life balance as a cross-cutting issue in human resources development, a new employee survey and a common understanding of work-life balance at all management levels.

Strategy
We are focused on performing the tasks of the JKI in the best possible way and achieving our goals. In doing so, we ensure that efficiency and performance are balanced with the interests of all employees. In this context, it is essential to take appropriate account of the family and life-stage-related aspects of our employees.
Structure
To ensure a good work-life balance and accommodate different stages of life, we expect all employees to demonstrate a high degree of responsibility and offer a structure that allows them to work flexibly.
Culture
Trust, collegiality and attentive and direct communication form the basis for successful and fulfilling cooperation at the JKI. Mutual respect and understanding as well as appreciation are prerequisites for goal-oriented cooperation.
