Fundamentals

Training to become a winemaker is a wonderful opportunity to turn your passion for nature, wine, and craftsmanship into a fulfilling career. What to expect

  • Independently plan, carry out, and monitor work processes in the business
  • Carefully cultivate the soil using machines and equipment and prepare it for planting vines
  • Ensure sustainable soil fertility
  • Plant and care for vines
  • Harvest and process grapes
  • Observing accident prevention regulations
  • Producing wine products (e.g., wine, sparkling wine) in a quality-conscious and environmentally friendly manner
  • Packaging and selling wine products
  • Presenting wine products to customers in an appealing manner
  • Conducting customer meetings
  • Recording and evaluating harvest results and operational performance

Pay

Nach TVAöD (Vergütung für Auszubildende und Praktikant/innen im öffentlichen Dienst).

Vocational school, start and duration of training

The theoretical training takes place at the BBS Rheinpfalz vocational school of the Rural Service Centers of Rhineland-Palatinate.
